October 2009 Friends, This issue of the "Think Without Boundaries" newsletter contains information about "things to do". First - I invite you to visit my NEW website - over 15 years ago I wrote a book on how families can live on one income, called "Thrifty Tips for Families". Now I've launched a site in advance of the NEW revised edition of the book. Visit for some great money saving tips and sign up for the monthly money saver newsletter. Thrifty Tips for Families website I've recently started working with three AMAZING women. Glenda, Michelle and Julie are all cancer survivors. They've all written their inspiring stories, and I'm editing them into one book titled "Choosing to Smile". Prior to the book launch in March of 2010 you can join their Facebook Group for updates and inspirational messages. Choosing to Smile - Facebook Group Log into Facebook and in the Search box type in "Choosing to Smile" Google is donating $10,000,000 (yes 10 million) to a "world changing project" and YOU (and other voters around the globe) get to choose what project gets the money. Make your vote count - you've only got until October 8, 2009 to vote. Google 10 to the 100 Project - Vote Here Curious....puzzled...uncertain...scared....about all the strange weather and natural events happening lately (typhoons, floods, droughts, storms)? Me too! So...I'll soon be launching a new site to compile, discuss and think about all these events. Watch for www.mothernatureisangry.com - COMING SOON. Do you live in the Fraser Valley area of BC and want to make an impact around the globe by helping AIDS orphans? This Saturday night a concert will benefit "The Grandmother Project". This organization, founded by Stephen Lewis (Canadian politician and UN ambassador) is made up of Canadian (and other nationalities) grandmothers and others, who raise funds to support grandmothers in Africa who are raising their grandchildren who have been orphaned by AIDS. You can get tickets at the House of James or Kings Music in Abbotsford ($20/$15 for students). The local group of Grandmothers to Grandmothers (or Gogo’s) are hosting a fund raising concert this Saturday, October 3 at the Matsqui Centennial Auditorium. The Abbotsford to Africa performance, which starts at 7 p.m., will be a multimedia concert of music, visuals, props, stories and humour. Two of Abbotsford's most popular entertainers, virtuosic violinist Calvin Dyck and renowned pianist Betty Suderman, will combine their talents and compassion. "We are excited about the new title Abbotsford to Africa because this concert provides a way for the people of Abbotsford to help the people of Africa in a meaningful way." Both Dyck and Suderman are keen to support the Abbotsford Area Gogos, as the cause is dear to their hearts. For more information about the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign, visit www.grandmotherscampaign.org . That's it for this month. No "true business tips" but lots of good information. Have a great month - we'll talk again in November. Wendy McClelland "I motivate people to think without boundaries" |
