Hello, You've arrived here because you want to know more about "Creating a Winning Marketing Plan in 10 Easy Steps!", so I'm going to show you EXACTLY what you'll get if you buy this e-book. Below each section title I've included the first paragraph that's actually in the e-book. You will get TONS more information in the actual e-book, but even the outline will give you information to use TODAY! What is marketing? Definition: EVERY contact your potential customer has with you, your product or service or information about your business. This includes BEFORE they buy, WHEN they buy, and AFTER they buy! This also includes the name you choose for your business (is it easy to remember, easy to spell, does it describe what you do?), where you set up shop (home based business or a retail mall or online), what kind of packaging you choose, how to follow up with customers, and ANY other contact your clients (and potential clients) have with you. So, if every contact your potential customer has with you is considered marketing, you need make sure that every contact is positive. By creating a MARKETING PLAN you will be doing your best to be successful. Topics include: STEP ONE: The most important first step in marketing your product or service is to IDENTIFY your IDEAL client. What is an ideal client? The person most likely to purchase your product or service. You can identify your ideal client by using a variety of characteristics. (age, gender, income, etc.) STEP TWO: WHERE can you find your ideal client? Ask yourself: - where do they shop? - do they shop online? - do they buy from a mail order catalogue? - will you find them at a sporting event, the shopping mall or weekly bingo? STEP THREE: Now you need to find a way to “make contact” with your clients wherever they are. Make lists of: - ALL the places you can think of that your ideal client will be: grocery stores, shopping malls, trade shows, vacation destinations, etc. - ALL the publications they read or watch: magazines, newspapers, television programs, internet sites, etc. - ALL the hobbies or special interests they have: watching sports, playing on a sports team, collecting antiques, etc. STEP FOUR: Start your own email newsletter. Start your own newsletter – email or paper will work. I prefer email because it’s low cost, I can publicize it in iterally tens of thousands of places online and people can easily forward them to their friends! Make sure your newsletter contains VALUABLE information, NOT a sales pitch! By becoming a trusted source of good information you begin to build a relationship. STEP FIVE: Your next step is to create a calendar that you can use to plot your marketing strategy. You can make a calendar on your computer, on a flip chart or a large wall calendar. Choose what works best as a reminder system for you. Plan as far in advance as you feel you can comfortably. Each week make a commitment to do one marketing activity. Some weeks you may want to do something small – like send out postcards to past customers to tell them about an upcoming sale. STEP SIX: Making the initial contact with potential clients. When you’ve identified your ideal client, the right places to meet them, and created a marketing calendar that is ready to be filled with ideas, you can start to have some fun with your marketing. STEP SEVEN: Want to go one step further? Build your own website – make sure it contains lots of valuable information and is updated often. Be sure you have your web address on EVERY piece of marketing material that leaves your office, t-shirts that your delivery people wear, vehicles the company uses and anywhere else you can think of! STEP EIGHT: Another great way to market your business at NO cost is to create a press release. A press release is basically an article you write about something exciting that’s happening in your business (e.g. an award you’ve won, a new product you are now offering, a book you have written, etc.) A properly created press release must be written like a newspaper article and not contain any advertising. Pretend you’re a reporter telling someone else’s story! STEP NINE: When you know who your ideal client is, you can find out what other kinds of businesses have the SAME ideal client. As an example, if you have a product that would be suited to home based businesses (e.g. on-site paper shredding) you could team up with another business that has the same home based business clientele (e.g. bookkeeper who specializes in businesses with less than 5 employees). By “teaming up” or creating a “joint venture” or a “fusion marketing” opportunity, you can easily generate new profits very quickly. STEP TEN: One of the best ways to tell people about your business is by putting on free seminars. Rent a meeting room in a public building or hotel, send out press releases and email invitations through your newsletter, email list and discussion lists. Your seminar should give some great quality information but leave people wanting MORE! Creating a Marketing Plan This marketing plan is only 10 steps – so that even if you are a beginner in the field of marketing you will be able to follow it and create it in a short period of time. Make this plan work for you – go online, do research, read books and magazines, talk to people in business, attend workshops and seminars – all these things will help you learn and develop your own ideas, and your own “marketing style”. Have fun – get creative and “think without boundaries!” Wendy McClelland, author "Create a Winning Marketing Plan in 10 Easy Steps!"
